Every time I roam the aisles of Target (which is too often I must admit) – I always come across the Sonia Kashuk makeup. I have never tried her products out before, but was really curious to try them out so I decided to try out the Eye Shadow Quad and the Chic Luminosity Warm Glow Powder.
At my local Target there was only one more of the Chic Luminosity Warm Glow Powder so that must be a good sign.. right? I could not resist picking it up because of how gorgeous and luminous it appeared in the packaging. I have been loving this powder. I use my e.l.f. Small Tapered Brush and sweep this on my cheeks and the bridge of my nose. To me – it is very comparable to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders luminosity – if not better. I actually prefer the Sonia Kashuk powder over the Hourglass powder because of how smooth and effortless it glides onto my skin. It does not have any chunky glitter and truly gives you a gorgeous natural glow.
As you can tell in the photo above it’s barely noticeable but I love that. It adds warmth and glow and I have yet to have gone overboard with it where I end up looking like a disco ball.
Sonia Kashuk has such a wide variety of eye shadows to choose from, but being the plain Jane that I am I chose to try out the Eye Shadow Quad in Bronzed Beauty. In my makeup collection I do not have many quads and this shade range looked like the perfect one that I can take if I am traveling rather than having to bring a larger shadow palette.
I was very impressed with this quad. It is buttery smooth, pigmented, and does not have any fall out when I apply the shadow onto my eyelids. The only shadow I can see others not being too keen on is third one from the left because it has a lot of glitter in it. I personally do not have an issue with it because I think it is stunning on the lid and gives a little more dimension to the look.
For the look above – I applied the champagne color all over my eyelid with my finger, with a blending brush I dipped into the deepest brown and applied it to my outer-v and lower lash line, with my finger I applied the glittery/lightest shade onto the center of my eyelids, I also added the same champagne color that I used on my eyelids on my lower lash line towards the inner corner. I felt that the only thing that was missing to this quad is a matte brown to apply into the crease to pull the entire look together and blend it all out – so I went in with the bronzer that I used for the day and buffed it into my crease out outer-v.
Sonia Kashuk is on the pricer side of makeup at the drugstore (Eye Shadow Quad – $13.69 Glow Powder – $12.99) but if you’re just looking for something that can be a staple in your everyday use I definitely recommend trying these two products out. The only negative I have regarding the eyeshadow quad is that there are no names for each shade so when I try to refer to it through this blog post I had to describe it off of the color.
Have you tried any Sonia Kashuk products? I have been very impressed with these two and want to hear your recommendations for any others that are amazing in her line.
